It’s not news that quality child care in the U.S. is scarce and expensive. While there is a lot of talk surrounding infant and Pre-K care, the issue does not go away once a child is school-aged. According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, nearly 30% of families of school-aged children with annual incomes of $75,000 or higher say they face challenges finding affordable, high-quality after-school care for their children. Families with annual incomes of less than $30,000 have an even harder time, with 52% reporting difficulty finding after-school programs.
